Edward Foose was stationed at the 38th parallel, which in 1948, became the boundary between the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea) and the Republic of Korea (South Korea). During the war he held many jobs, including a pole lineman in communications, a captain’s driver, running the post exchange, and painting signs.
